Chacko Alexander, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist whose approach to patient care is deeply rooted in a philosophy of empathy, active listening, and shared decision-making. He believes that the most effective treatment plans are created in partnership with his patients, ensuring their voices are heard and their values are respected every step of the way.
This patient-first perspective was shaped significantly by his international medical training. Dr. Alexander earned his medical degree from Stanley Medical College (University of Madras), where he developed a broad, humanistic foundation in medicine. He further refined his clinical acumen by earning the prestigious MRCP (UK) qualification, a rigorous, standards-based credential from the Royal Colleges of Physicians in the United Kingdom known for emphasizing deep clinical knowledge and diagnostic skill. He then completed his residency at the University of Missouri–Columbia, blending his international experiences with the American medical tradition.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (F.A.C.C.), Dr. Alexander is certified in interventional cardiology and has been a trusted presence in The Woodlands area for decades. He served as the first Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Memorial Hermann - The Woodlands, a pioneering role that helped build the very infrastructure of cardiac care in the region. Prior to that, he was Chief of Cardiology at the Texas Tech University Medical Sciences Center in El Paso, where he was instrumental in developing the medical school's cardiology program and remained actively engaged in teaching and research.
Today, Dr. Alexander continues to practice with the belief that listening is the most important part of any diagnosis, and that true spiritual and physical healing comes from a partnership built on trust and mutual respect. He is fluent in English, Malayalam and Tamil languages.
