Bruce S. Lachterman, M.D., F.A.C.C. was born in St. Louis, Missouri, received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and completed his medical training at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and the University of California Irvine School of Medicine. Following internal medicine training at Irvine, he completed his cardiovascular training at the University of Texas–Houston Health Science Center, with training at Hermann Hospital and St. Luke's Texas Heart Institute.

Dr. Lachterman has been practicing in The Woodlands area since 1993. He was instrumental in bringing endovascular interventions to The Woodlands and North Houston area more than 25 years ago. He has served as Chairman of the Departments of Cardiology and Internal Medicine at Houston Northwest Medical Center and Baylor St Luke's - The Woodlands Hospital as well as Chief of Staff at Lakeside St Luke's The Woodlands Hospital. He previously served as Medical Director of the cardiac cath lab at St. Luke's–The Woodlands. He holds a particular interest in coronary intervention and peripheral vascular disease diagnosis and treatment.
