Born in Querétaro, Mexico, Dr. Bernardo De La Guardia earned his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), where he ranked second in his graduating class. He pursued research at Baylor College of Medicine and served as Chief Medical Resident at the University of Arizona, followed by cardiovascular and interventional cardiology training at UT Medical School Houston.
Dr. De La Guardia is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He previously served as Medical Director for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and as Chairman of the Cardiology Department in The Woodlands, leaving a lasting impact on the structural development of cardiology care in the region. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Luke's–The Woodlands, continuing his leadership in advancing interventional cardiac care for the North Houston community.
