Margit Nemeth, M.D., F.A.C.C. was born in Mendoza, Argentina, but grew up in Houston, Texas. Her undergraduate training at the University of Texas at Austin was in Mechanical Engineering, and she holds a Master's degree in Cancer Biology from the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston. She then attained her medical school degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
She returned to Houston to complete her cardiology fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute – St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, where she was honored as CCU Fellow of the Year in 2003. Dr. Nemeth has additional training in all aspects of cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT. She has done extensive research with many peer-reviewed publications on topics including cancer biology, cytogenetics, cardiac MRI, and optimization of biventricular pacemaker function. She serves as Medical Director of Noninvasive Cardiology at Baylor St Luke's - The Woodlands Hospital.
